Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. For Virginia clients, I am in-network with Aetna and Optum (UMR, UHC, GEHA, etc). However, I am working on getting credentialed with Cigna, and Anthem (Carelon). I also accept self-pay clients.
For Hawai’i clients, I am not accepting insurance, and am only accepting fee-for-service; however, I do offer sliding scale ONLY for Hawai’i residents.
What if my insurance isn’t accepted?
I can provide a superbill you may submit for out-of-network reimbursement, or you can choose private pay.
How long are sessions?
Standard sessions are 50–60 minutes. Shorter or longer sessions can be arranged.
How often do we meet?
Most clients start weekly. Over time, we may shift to biweekly or monthly depending on your progress and goals.
How do I get started?
You can email me and let me know your name, what type of services you’re looking for, and your goals for therapy.
What issues do you help with?
I specialize in holistic wellness and spirituality counseling but integrate traditional therapeutic methods to support clients with anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, and self esteem.
Do you see clients in person or online?
I offer virtual therapy sessions for clients based in Virginia and Hawai’i, and life coaching for clients in other states.
What’s the difference between therapy and life coaching?
Therapy helps address mental health concerns (like trauma or anxiety) with evidence-based counseling. Life coaching focuses on personal growth, motivation, and future goals, and is available across state lines. However, it’s important to note, that life coaching is not covered by insurance.
What does holistic therapy mean?
I integrate mind, body, and spirit in healing. That might include mindfulness, journaling, breath work, spirituality, or self-care alongside counseling.
Do you incorporate culture and spirituality into therapy?
Absolutely. As a Filipino American, I value multicultural perspectives and believe therapy should honor your identity and beliefs.
